Content consumption grows in times of isolation

Social media. According to Thiago Cavalcante, director of a startup specialized in digital influencer campaigns, Inflr, during social isolation people spend on average 70% of their time on social media. You could say people are lonely: it is a way of trying to maintain interpersonal relationships, which used to be physical and have now become virtual.

The increase in content consumption is not just for entertainment; people also turn to social media for information. Squid, a company specialized in influencer marketing, reported an interesting increase of around 24.2% in influencers' engagement rate and a 27.3% increase in the effective reach of stories. Felipe Oliva, CSO of Squid, describes his analysis of the role of influencers in campaigns: there has been a considerable increase, with engagement rates up by around 19.1% and stories engagement up by around 13.6%.
