Pandemic leads companies to redirect advertising investments to e-commerce

The new coronavirus pandemic has affected everyone's work routines around the world. Many companies have suspended their activities, while others operate in a reduced or exceptional capacity, focusing only on e-commerce and digital operations in general.

The Inflr survey “Digital marketing in times of pandemic: what has changed” analyzed precisely the effect of the new coronavirus crisis on companies. According to the survey, carried out between March 9 and 30, companies' first reaction was to slow down campaigns that were planned or under way, which led to a 60% drop in marketing investment during the period.

“The number seems big at first, but the shock is temporary. The goal is to adapt campaigns to the new reality. All those dealing with in-store sales, for example, were put on hold,” explains Thiago Cavalcante, director of New Business at Adaction, a company specialized in digital media campaigns, and at Inflr.
